The Natural health centre is not only a centre for beauty and physical health but also a place to come to invest in your emotional well-being. On this page you will find details of the therapists who provide counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. Whether you are seeking support for a current problem, looking to get help with a longer term issue that has trouble you; or whether you seek support in overcoming an emotion or behaviour that impacts upon your life, our therapists are available to support you through your difficulty.
PSYCHOTHERAPY will help an individual to dig deep to the root cause of a personality, behaviour or situation.
COUNSELLING is suitable for anyone looking for short term therapy (usually six sessions), often for a specific problem or issue, or for general feelings of stress and anxiety. Through talking with a third party, thought processes can be triggered and alternative response and solutions discovered.
HYPNOTHERAPY explores the subconscious mind, opening the mind up in a very relaxing and gentle way. It can be a powerful and effective means of resolving phobias, stress, habits and behaviours as well as more general issues.

Lucy Ferguson, Ad Dip PC MNCS (Acc), Cert Hyp CS, MA (Hons)
Member of National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and an Accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
Since qualifying in 2017, I have worked in private practice, including providing a counselling service to employees in a corporate environment with one to one counselling sessions. I have also worked as a wellbeing advisor and course instructor on corporate mental health training courses and workshops for a range of global companies. My training included a placement working with young people at YMCA in Ipswich.
I am a director of a local care farm, which provides wellbeing support for young people and adults with learning difficulties.
My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic, analytical, and CBT techniques. I have experience working with a wide range of wellbeing issues, including low mood, self-esteem, panic, anxiety and depression, stress, family and relationship issues, bereavement and trauma.
I work with a wide range of age groups.
There are lots of different ways of approaching problems, issues and aspects of lifestyle, so I will always work with the client and their specific story, feelings and concerns. Whether it’s a specific event or issue or maybe there is something more permanent or ongoing that you feel you need some extra support with, there are so many ways that talking to a therapist can help. It can put things in perspective and release stress, anxiety and overwhelming feelings. It can help through difficult times, and equally it can be restorative and beneficial to reflect and review things in a safe therapeutic space.
My priority is to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment for my clients where they will be listened to with attention and respect, in complete confidentiality. I will work hard to guide, reassure and support each client as they work towards solutions or changes, or simply have a place to come and talk to a non judgemental listener.
In hypnotherapy, we work with the subconscious mind to help overcome a range of issues, habits, behaviours, negative emotions. It can be effective and powerful, working at a deep level but in a gentle and relaxing way. This will often be incorporated with counselling sessions.
Testimonial: ‘It’s hard to imagine how I could have navigated…without this support…Lucy has been a confidant, a critical friend, an understanding ear and world class sounding board! She has helped me to explore and come to terms with challenging aspects of my past, whilst giving me the vital tools and advice I needed to manage myself and protect those closest to me.’
I offer a 15-minute free phone consultation, sessions are 50 minutes, £65 per session.

My working background has been in the Health Service, voluntary sector and private practice. I established a therapy and counselling project working with families affected by addictions.
Psychotherapy or shorter term counselling is a place where you can find perspective and insight. Throughout our lives we will all experience periods of difficulty. This may be linked to an event such as the end of a relationship, trauma or a bereavement. Sometimes though there is just a general sense of unhappiness. Psychotherapy can help you stay in the present moment and use our awareness of what arises as a gateway to understand difficulties from the past and hopes and fears about the future.
If you would like to book the initial 15 minutes please call 07833 191041.

Philippa Davey: Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, BA (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP (Accred)
Hello, I’m Philippa Davey, an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor. I work with adults of all ages on a long or short-term basis.
My qualifications include: BA (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy; Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills; Advanced Certificate in Creative Therapies.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy – MBACP (Accred). This accreditation recognises high standards of knowledge and experience in counselling and psychotherapy.
As an Integrative Counsellor I work with a number of different psychotherapeutic approaches and tailor therapy to suit your individual needs. My approach is open, non-judgemental and encouraging – it is important that you feel comfortable and able to explore your emotions freely. However, therapy might not always be comfortable. In order for significant change to happen there are times when you will need to move beyond your comfort zone, and therefore, when appropriate, my approach can be challenging. That said, therapy is led by you – you decide what you want to explore and what you want to achieve and we work together at your pace.
Depending on the issues you want to address, therapy can be short-term, mainly solution-focused where we look at developing strategies and providing the tools you need to help you handle your emotions effectively. Or it can be more in-depth, longer-term therapy where we explore the past to identify the root causes of your current emotional issues. This will help you to make sense of how you are feeling and why you may adopt certain behaviours. It will give you insight into how you interpret the world and other people and how this affects your thoughts and emotions. With this greater self-knowledge we continue our work together developing the solutions needed to achieve the outcome you are looking for.

Ed Christmas – Integrative Counsellor
I am a trained counsellor and hypnotherapist with a deep passion for supporting mental health and well-being. My approach is shaped by years of learning from diverse people and professionals, and a background that spans both France and England. This multicultural experience has fueled my curiosity about the shared human experience and the unique differences that make every story important.
As an LGBTQ+ counsellor in the UK, I focus on creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen and valued, especially those facing personal struggles, family dynamics, or societal pressures. I draw on a holistic approach that combines psychological frameworks, systems theory, and ecological thinking to help clients find balance and resilience.
I have significant experience working with neurodiverse individuals, particularly those on the autism spectrum, and am passionate about addressing issues like racism, sexism, and religious trauma. My practice values imagination and storytelling as tools for therapeutic growth, believing that our internal narratives shape much of our experience and offer pathways to change.
Through a compassionate, inclusive practice, I help clients explore personal growth, life transitions, and healing from past traumas. If you’re seeking a space to explore your challenges with respect, understanding, and purpose, feel free to reach out. Let’s work together toward your well-being and self-discovery.
