Osteopathy

The most straight forward description of osteopathy I have seen if from Which Magazine:
“The aim of osteopathy is to correct problems in the body frame, making it easier for the body to function normally &reducing the chance of problems occurring in the future.”
For your body to work well, its structure must also work well. So I work to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery.

I use a combination of treatment types, based on what is appropriate for you and your tissues to effect a beneficial change, whilst maintaining a safe approach. So in your treatment you may experience gentle touch, stretching, clinical massage, lymphatic drainage to joint articulation & manipulation to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanism.

Typically I help people who are:

  • Suffering aches & pains that affect daily living.
  • Struggling with posture-related discomfort.
  • Carrying a sports or work-related injury.
  • Experiencing pregnancy-related back pain.
  • Seeking Post-op/injury rehabilitation

That ‘help’ offers the benefits of :
SPEEDER RECOVERY – back to pain-free activity
TACKLE EARLY – to stop it becoming a deep-set problem
PREVENT RE-OCCURRENCE – so you can enjoy health &
keep active.
PAIN-FREE & MOVE FREELY – are the strived for outcome.

In seeking to help clients maintain good health & prevent future problems, my treatment plan may include advice on posture, diet, lifestyle, exercise, pain & stress management. It’s all about ‘Getting you ‘back to play, rest & work!’
My areas of special interest are posture/scoliosis, frozen shoulder, sports injury recovery & foot mechanics.
I treat teenagers, the active, the elderly and through pregnancy or post op/injury rehab.
So if you are enduring pain & restricted movement standing, sitting, walking, sleeping, using stairs, driving, lifting or have numbness & P&Ns then visit me & feel the benefit.

Many years ago I had a rugby injury & was treated by various therapists – An osteopath just seemed to work for me & it left a lasting impression, so much so that later in life having worked in large companies to small start-ups, I was looking for something more….satisfying where I could help people in a very personable & practical way.

Five years to qualify & practicing for nearly 10 years on I enjoy the trying to help a diverse range of clients with relieving, reducing or managing their pain and allowing greater freedom of moving more freely.
Suffolk-born, schooled in Africa, served in HM Forces, and so fortunate to have travelled widely….I bring a wealth of ife experience to the treatment table.
Woodbridge has been my home for 21 years, and is a perfect base from which to serve the Suffolk Coastal area “Getting you back to play, rest and work”.
